Clip-on VEET
The next-generation VEET instrument
Clip-on VEET · Visual Environment Evaluation Tool
Coming soon:
12 grams, 40% less bulk. Their own frames. The same VEET science.
A single-sided sensor module that clips onto the eyewear your participants already wear — full-day light, spectral, distance, and motion logging without a dedicated study frame.
What Clip-on VEET is
- 5-second sampling for more than 24 hours of continuous logging; 15-second sampling runs past 50 hours.
- Optional smart wear detection pauses logging off-face to stretch one charge across multiple days.
- Same sensing suite and configurability as VEET — existing study protocols carry straight over.
- Extended UV sensitivity from a scientific-grade fused-silica window transmitting below 300 nm.

Single-sided right mount, matte black, >40% lower bulk
15° down, 4° in.

Attaches to rigid temple arms, participant-supplied or study-issued — no dedicated SIXTY D frame required.

Designed to IP67; −10 °C to 37 °C, 95% RH non-condensing.

- ALS | Ambient light sensor (ams OSRAM TSL2585)
- PHO | Spectral light sensing (ams OSRAM AS7341)
- IMU | 6-axis inertial measurement unit (Bosch BMI270)
- TOF | Direct time-of-flight distance sensing(ams OSRAM TMF8828)
Why teams will want the Clip-on
One Module, Not two.
Dropping the duplicated second temple saves about 20 g — targeting under 12 g complete, roughly 30% of the mass of the VEET 2 pair.
Their frames, not ours.
Adapts to eyewear a participant already wears and likes — rigid temple arms, no dedicated study frame required.
Removeable mid-Study
Tool-free release. Comes off for sport, re-seats in the same spot
A note on pricing
- Clip-on VEET pricing is not yet final. We expect it to fall within the range of research-grade light-logging and actigraphy instruments, with volume pricing for multi-unit studies.
- One thing you can plan around: VEET software, data formats, and analysis tooling remain open and free. Your budget covers hardware.
- If you’re building a budget for a grant submission, tell us your unit count and timeline in the form below. We can provide an indicative per-unit figure and a letter you can cite in your proposal.
- Figures provided prior to availability are estimates for planning purposes and do not constitute an offer of sale.

Disclaimer:
The Clip-on VEET is designed for research; not clinical use at this time
Sensor hardware is shared with VEET 2; module-level specifications (mass, battery life, wireless, sampling) are not yet validated in production.
Frame compatibility: the Clip-on VEET will attach to most rigid frames with a rectangular temple arm cross section. Temple arms that are wireframe, circular or flexible are generally not compatible.
